13.5 Management of Change

Management of Change is an odd topic probably more suited to a business studies course. It has very little to do with IT apart from the fact that developments in IT *lead* to organisational changes which then need to be managed for IT projects to be considered successful. On second thoughts mebbee it does have something to do with IT??? I'm soooooooo confused.

13.5 Practice questions

AQA past papers
Past papers. Not as useful as the Psionica database AQA shamefully closed but...

Practice questions
Past paper practice questions for 13.5 (.rtf file - opens in Word/Writer) suitable for revision/homework etc. etc.

Past paper answers
Answers to the questions above. Password protected .doc file. Sorry but the password is only available to teachers.

Older Exam Papers
Past papers (pre 2000) not included on the official AQA site from Colchester VI Form College. These still contain some relevant questions for this topic. Look for IT04/ICT4 papers. I think this is dead???

13.5 Online Resources

Links to general online resources for 13.5. I'd recommend right clicking links/icons and "Save Target As..." for anything other than web pages (see key below)

Management of Change
Short PowerPoint presentation based on Ch.44 of the Heathcote A2 textbook

Management of Change
Nice set of summary revision notes and questions covering all aspects of this topic from Clive E. Morley. The case study at the end of this doc is especially good for improving your understanding.

Change Management
PowerPoint presentation by Chris Brown based on chapter 44 of the Heathcote book. Similar (but slightly different) to the one above.

London Ambulance Disaster
Probably the most famous example of what goes wrong when change is managed badly. follow the link at the top of the page for more info.

This document from BECTA should give you a pretty good idea of some of the factors that managers need to address when implementing change in an educational setting.

Management of change
Set of summary revision notes from the David Yates of KJS fame. This is a useful resource for planning your revision.

Management of Change
Set of rather good online revision notes (and questions) for this topic from the rather good Antonine Education. There's a multi choice quiz at the end.

13.5 Management of Change
Nice set of summary notes and questions from North Chadderton High School. These are ideal for planning your revision.

Change Management
Excellent PowerPoint presentation from the ever-reliable ict-tutor covers all aspects of 13.5. Based on the Doyle textbook and FatMax recommended.

IT Failure in the News
Page of news links from Teach-ICT. Some of the failures outlined where caused by poor change management. I'll leave it to you to decide which ones...

Managing Change
Set of exercises related to this topic from Whitby CC. I haven't got a kL00 which textbook it refers to. Mebbee it's the latest Heathcote?

Management of Change Questions
Couple of older past paper questions on legislation suitable for homeworks, revision, blah de blah de blah.
