This topic introduces database systems which is kind of useful as you'll need to know a bit about databases for IT2 AND a lot about databases for IT4.

- Give a definition of a database
- Describe the advantages and disadvantages of
a database approach over flat files
- Explain how a hierarchy of passwords
and storage of data separate to programs contributes to database security
