In this topic you need to understand the importance of up to date, accurate and complete
information and that there are costs involved in terms of money, time and human resources to get good quality information.

Key Points/Learning Outcomes

You should understand:

  • that up to date, accurate and complete information adds value to organisations by aiding decision making, monitoring progress (company and individual) and the targeting of resources so giving a competitive advantage;

You also need to know about the costs associated with data collection (direct and indirect), data entry, processing and maintenance.
