| WJEC ICT - AS ICT |
| Last update 20 May 2009 - FatMax |
The AS part of the course is covered in two modules...
- IT1 - Externally assessed exam (60%)
- IT2 - Internally assessed presentation task (40%)
... and just to confuse stuff a bit more IT1 is divided into two more parts!!! |
Below are links to stuff you might find useful when planning your revision, lessons and/or coursework.
| |
| |
| Introduction to IT2 including some useful dos and don'ts from the WJEC |
| PPT outlining the concepts of image and ethos! Potentially worth 10+ marks!!!! |
| Marksheet and commentary to go with the Rotheram Scouts exemplar project. |
| Part 1 of an exemplar project - covers data processing, task1 and task2. |
| Part 2 of the same project. Covers task 3, compression and evaluation. |
| Visit Kerry Turner's great page for loads of IT2 advice and exemplar stuff |
| Online version of the mark scheme from Ogmore School highlights some of the key things to do. |

Make sure you also look at this ppt guide to tackling the IT1 exam by Mr. Rudge. He seems to know what he's talking about :)
Once you done all that try your paw at some of the past paper questions here |
| Extract from the spec. outlining the skills you're expected to show for IT1b |
| A label sometimes unfairly applied to FatMax at lunchtime! An exemplar spreadsheet thingy. |
| Not for this spec. but easy to follow book covers all the techniques you need for 1b. |
| Datapig (there seems to be a theme here!!!) video tutorials to help you master Excel. |
| IT 1a and ITb are part of the same paper!!! For 1b you have to prepare a spreadsheet on a specific topic in advance of the written paper. Hard copies of the spreadsheet are then taken into the exam and used to answer questions in Section B. |
