Books - Spreadsheets (for IT1b)
Last update 30 May 2009 - FatMax
The books listed here are for help with section B of the AS exam. You need to prepare a spreadsheet in advance and then answer questions in the exam on the various functions/features you've used to set up the spreadsheet.

TBH you probably don't need a book to prepare you for this stuff but if you're one of those people who knows nothing or likes to know *everything* there's probably something below to help . I don't endorse *any* of them so don't come crying to me if you get sold a pup!

As good a place as any to start. Make sure you buy the book that matches your version of Excel - not that it should make any difference when using functions and formulae. |

Curtis D. Frye |

Direct from the evil empire. A basic intro if you're not too hot with Excel. I'd only buy this 'cos I like the authors name! |

By the legendary Mr. Spreadsheets (not to be confused with Mr. Excel - who's probably his brother-in-law or something)!!! Anyhoo he's written shedloads of Excel books so must know a thing or two. Check out his website here |

Mott and Rendell |
|
By the men behind Mott the Hoople and Rendell & Hopkirk (deceased). For projects really but a nice step by step guide if you're new(ish) to Excel. |

Yet more functions and formulas. This time from a business angle. Probably a bit of overkill for this level but if a job's worth doing properly... |

| If you've got any suggestions for good books or resources you've used to prepare for section B of the exam drop me a line at the Fatican. |
