AQA 5521 AS ICT

Stuff for AS ICT
- These are just some of the things I find useful for teaching AQA 5521 AS ICT and which may, or may not, be useful to other teachers, students and passing Latvians. AQA doesn't actually endorse any of this stuff (their loss if you want MNSHO) so you need to exercise a bit of caution using anything you find here or on any of the linked pages.  If in doubt always refer back to the Official AQA website and the current 5521 specification. You can help keep this site relevant by submitting new ideas/resources and/or by sending me biscuits!

Scheme of Work Thingy - 4 Teachers

I'm still working on this but it'll eventually sort of link all the useful AS stuff together into some kind of structured order (unlike the rest of the somewhat bizarre navigation on this site). That's plan A anyway!!!

Anyway, if you're interested in using this, or just morbidly curious, you can find it here...

AS ICT - Useful Official AQA Stuff

The official AQA 5521/6521 page containing a number of useful documents can be found here Highlights for AS include:

AQA past papers
Past papers and mark schemes. Not as useful as the Psionica database they shamefully closed but... the next best thing.

Examiners' Reports
It's very useful when preparing your revision and practising exam technique to know exactly what the examiner was/is looking for. If you read nothing else read these.

Coursework Advice
Advice and information from the 2004/2005 regional standardisation meetings about coursework. Useful for ICT3.

Other Useful AS ICT Sites

FatMax isn't the only dog on the sofa! Some other very nice people have created websites for AS ICT - some of them are even betterer than FatMax!

Alcester Grammar School
Comprehensive set of AS links and resources sorted by module and topic. This continually updated site is managed by the magnificently named FM!

Psionica
I don't know what Psionica actually means - sounds like something out of Star Trek??? Anyhow there's some very cool Flash things here

Antonine-Education
Excellent revision site by James Irvine. All references in the notes are to version 1 of the Pat Heathcote textbook.

Teach-ICT
Lots and lots and lots of things sorted by module and topic by the seemingly tireless Debbie Jones. I wish I had this woman as *my* teacher!!

The KJS
One of the oldest AS sites. Has a pretty good selection of guides/resources for different types of ICT3 project. You'll have to guess the p/word for the theory notes.

ICT-Teacher
Contains some very good PowerPoint presentations for each topic in ICT1 and ICT2. This site also includes some supplementary notes for each module.

Geography Pages
Loads of links and resources from multi-talented geography person. Also pretty useful if you're studying ICT AND Geography. The colouring in stuff is here

OCRICT
This is one of my favourite sites. Not for AQA (which isn't necessarily a bad thing!) but if you root around you can find loads of useful and interesting things.

I've probably missed out some very important sites by accident - have a look on the Links page for more sites and if they're not there mail me!

Key to resources:

PowerPoint presentation
Word file
Web page
Macromedia Flash
Pdf file

Bye 4 now

Don't forget to bookmark this page and call back soon (preferably with some biscuits!!!)

FaTMaX

Help FatMax keep these pages relevant by submitting new links and/or reporting dead links here. FatMax is not an official AQA site or endorsed by AQA in any way, shape or form - they don't even remember to send a card on my birthday!! The only <snigger> *reliable* </snigger> source of official AQA info and documents is www.aqa.org.uk  This page last updated 25/09/06 by a dog (drawn by the talented Adam Kirkton) with too much time on his paws.
