Dedicated AS/A2 Sites

In no particular order, a page of links to FatMax's favourite ICT revision sites - who needs a teacher when you've got stuff like this available at the click of a moose (see disclaimer). BTW, I know some of the sites are *probably* dead by now - I've left them here just in case they make the greatest comeback since Lazarus.

If *your* site isn't in the list it doesn't mean I don't like you! (see, my tails wagging - always a good sign). It just means I either forgot about you or don't know you exist.  Anyway if you want to see a site included mail me.

AS/A2 ICT Sites
The KJS Kesgrave Dead?
A FatMax favourite for AQA AS/A2 stuff - notes, coursework, links. Try and work out the p/word on the theory notes before mailing FatMax. This excellent site contains all the advice AQA should publish but don't. I'm pretty certain this site has now gone for good???
Revise ICT Coming Soon - New FatMax!!!
Not content with creating one of the best looking sites on the web Mr Field puts some fun back into ICT with some neat games and quizzes for ICT1. Check out the rest of his cool stuff here I've got yet another site but haven't decided what to do with it yet. Watch this space.
AGS Psionica Gone but not forgotten
Alcester Grammar is for AS only and hasn't been updated for a while but contains a great set of links sorted by module and topic. AFAIK this is the only site to maintain a video section. Notes for ICT1 & ICT2 *and* a searchable past paper database. Now part of a moodle site but you can login as a guest. Most of the Flash stuff on *this* site came from the talented Mr. Longley.
OCRICT Geography Pages
OCR rather than AQA related site but then again nobody's perfect! Free ppt resources and this site also has a great discussion forum here. Geography!! Big respect to Mr. Parkinson for the ICT section. Loads of links and useful stuff. No more polychromatic rendering jokes from FatMax!
ICT in a Nutshell The virtual presence of...
Fantastic site. The section on MS Access is invaluable for ICT6 coursework. I spend way too much time on this site! Highly recommended by FatMax. ...Clive E. Morley. This site contains some great theory notes and links. A couple of the notes are password protected but think Jungle Book and Kim.
The Billericay School North Chadderton High
FM apologies for bypassing the horrible java and frames on the homepage! Site contains loads of PowerPoint stuff for all 6 AQA modules. Lots of theory notes sorted by module/topic. Unusually, this site also contains some good tutorials for students using Filemaker rather than Access.
TeachICT.com ictWeb.org
Excellent site with links organised by topic. There's a similar page for devotees of OCR here. Teachers should take time to explore other parts of this site A new site with some useful resources for teachers and students. Some links don't work yet and I think this might have been abandoned???
Colchester VI Form Dead A Level ICT Network
This established site is very well-organised and comprehensive. On it you'll find AS/A2 schemes of work, notes, presentations and past papers A level site based around the Edexcel specification. It's run by the respected Mary Reid, author of A Level ICT for Edexcel Site is no longer maintained 'cos the spec doesn't exist anymore. Anyone want the domain??
FatMax Antonine-Education
The original FatMax! No longer maintained or updated but there are a few resources on the original site that don't appear here. Death by Yahoo popups! FatMax2 is here for retro buffs Cool site neatly broken down into AS and A2 modules and topics. Also contains loads of electronics and physics stuff which could be pretty useful if you need to rewire your kennel!
Sutton Coldfield AS ICT Steve McWeeney
Weird site. I got dizzy after a bit from looking at all the spinning balls but it's well worth a look as there is lots of good stuff dotted about if you poke around in here for a bit. This highly regarded author offers notes on CD for sale. Both the theory notes and RDBMS notes are very good value for money. FatMax recommended.
Bournemouth & Poole College Steve Mayer
Full set of A2 notes, sorted by topic, from Gerard Horsley. The page also contains some practice questions in an Access 97 database. Also from B & P College. Steve uses regular email updates to keep his students informed. I think this has now been abandoned.
Deepak Gautam Tutor2U.net
Contains resources for ICT2 and AVCE. AVCE Unit 13 is useful if you're planning a website project for ICT3. They *were* going to put loads of ICT stuff online but seem to have got bored with the idea? They also sell a revision guide for OCR AS here
ICT-teacher.com David Royall
An excellent collection of revision notes, presentations, practice questions and lesson ideas. This site is VERY highly recommended by FatMax Complete AS ICT course online. You can *buy* the course although you're really paying for email support. The actual resources are free (and very good!!!)
Mortimer Wilson Whitby Community College
I thought this was a person!!! Turns out it's a school. Anyway there's some pretty good stuff for A level here. Apologies to Mortimer for bypassing the dept. home page! College dept. website contains some useful resources for various AS/A2 ICT topics. Well worth a visit for the AS and A2 handbooks.
Didcot Girls AS DeepDistraction
This is for OCR and the navigation makes it a *bit* hard to get around. On the other hand there's some good stuff in here if you poke about Mr. Distraction is also a DJ (for those of you young enough to know what a DJ is!!!) Anyways the ICT section of his site contains some nice PowerPoint stuff done by his students during his day job.
The Student Room Histman
Discussion forum where students ask interesting questions like "Can you do my homework (or coursework or exams) for me?" The *real* Histman site is no more but if you're using FatMax, or probably any other AQA AS/A2 site, you've got Barry Thomas to thank!

Disclaimer thingy: Help FatMax keep these pages relevant by submitting new links and/or reporting dead links here. FatMax has no official association, thank goodness, with AQA. The only <cough> *reliable* </cough> source of AQA info is www.aqa.org.uk  No mooses were harmed in the production of this page which was last updated 14/01/07 by a dog who probably needs to diet. The cool dog pics are by Adam Kirkton just in case you need some cool dog pics (you can never have too many!)
